Swymnuts IVC

SwimmerSwymnuts IVC is primarily coached by Head Coach Cokie Lepinski. We are located at the College of Marin, Indian Valley Campus Pool at 1800 Ignacio Blvd, Novato, CA 94949. That is about 2.7 miles west of Highway 101 in Marin County (take the Ignacio Blvd exit in Novato and head west).

To swim with us at IVC, you must be able to swim 25 yards (1 length of the pool) freestyle without stopping. If you aren’t quite to that level yet, we offer swim lessons which will get you to that level. Information on swim lessons can be found here.

Our pool there is a 50 meter by 25 yard pool. The pool is usually set for short course – 25 yards – but sometimes we swim long course meters – 50 meters. The IVC pool has nice wide lanes with lots of room and is equipped with starting blocks to practice all those race starts! It also has spacious locker rooms with showers and lockers (bring your own lock). Parking is free for the 5:30 AM workouts, but you should plan on paying $4 to the parking meters for the Saturday workouts.

We offer 5 morning workout opportunities each week. Our practice schedule:

5:30-6:30 AM Monday through Friday

We do have occasional Sat or Sun workouts at IVC but they are sporadic due to pool and/or coach availability. See our monthly calendar for when they appear. You are always welcome to come join us at Lucas Valley 7-8:30am on Saturday mornings.

Be sure and check our Calendar tab for any changes to our Workout Calendar. On occasion we may not hold a workout and if that happens you’ll see this on our Calendar tab or in the listings of our Week of Workouts and Workout Calendar under the Swim Workouts tab.

You will need to be registered with United States Masters Swimming (USMS) to swim with us. You can do so using the Join/Renew USMS link in the right column of every page on this Swymnut website. USMS membership is required for our insurance coverage. If you have never been a USMS member before and wish to try us out, you may do so with this USMS 30-Day Trial Form. Complete it, sign it, and bring it to your first workout. After the 30-day period, you will be required to join USMS in order to continuing swimming with us. If you have been a member of USMS in the past, sorry, but you’ll need to rejoin USMS in order to swim with us.

See the Fees tab for our most updated fee schedule for Indian Valley. Those swimmers on our punch card and those that pay monthly dues pay one fee to swim at either or both Lucas Valley or Indian Valley!
